At a little after 4:00 EST/08:00 GMT, I was hearing channel Africa on AM 990. I did some searching and haven't found any relay stations in North America. The only solid thing I could find was a 600 Killawatt transmiter out of Cyprus and that was found in an issue of world of radio in 2003. I also found a potential station from Morocco, but it doesn't appear that this on the air anymore. DOes anyone know anything about this station in Cyprus, or any other stations that carry Channel Africa's English service at this time?

it's been a long while since I did any am dxing. Sometimes with my icom 735 I'd tune to the medium wave bands and listen with my long wire. It's not as it used to be years ago where you had quality programming. Now most of this crap you can bypass since it's tasteless. I'm right in between most of the big guns that carry coast to coast and rush. I guess when there's no activity on 160 meters, I check briefly the medum wave bands. Most the time if I hear some long openings on medium wave, I'll check 160.
